U4GM Explains Arc Raiders Matriarch Add Control
There's a moment in a July 2026 Expedition when the Queen's EMP blanks your screen, her slam lands during your reload, and a solid run turns into a repair bill. That isn't bad luck. You shot the glowing core because it was right there. Checking ARC Raiders BluePrints against the ammo you actually own can save that kind of panic. Queen and Matriarch aren't just oversized health bars - they punish bad target order, lazy spacing, and squads that stop communicating once the room gets loud.
Cripple the Queen Before Bursting
The Queen gives you a clean damage sequence, but only if you respect it. Her joints come first. Break enough of them and she loses mobility, which makes the central core a much safer target. Stay at mid-range. Too close, and the ground slam deletes your armor; too far, and you'll waste heavy rounds while she turns the arena into an EMP problem. Anvil or Bettina should carry main damage, while Hullcracker helps crack stubborn parts.
- Mark the nearest joint before anyone fires, then keep one piece of cover between you and the Queen for EMP pulses.
- Use Snap Blast Grenades to soften joints instead of throwing them into the core at full health.
- Save your heavy ammo for the immobilized window, then dump Anvil or Bettina shots into the central core.
- When summons appear, clear them fast; solo players should layer Jolt Mines with grenade traps before committing.
Matriarch Runs Collapse on Add Duty
Matriarch looks like a simple focus-fire check. Her chassis is tough, her loot is among the best, and the obvious answer seems to be stacking Ferro and Anvil damage with Wolfpack Grenades. The problem is that most groups chase that burst while her support units keep multiplying. Since update 1.36, add spawns arrive faster, so one distracted player can turn a clean phase into a revive chain. Give one player aggro and add control. The other two stay on the body. If the add player gets pressured, pause main-body burst for a few seconds, clear the immediate wave, heal, then resume. Healing Augments aren't optional padding here - they're what keeps the role split alive.
Pack for Bad Weather, Not Highlights
For Expedition 4, build around Survival and Conditioning, then bring durable heavy weapons instead of gambling everything on one flashy loadout. Night runs need lighting. Bad weather needs resistance items. Bring more ammo and repair supplies than feels comfortable, because both bosses punish the squad that arrives with one magazine plan and no backup. Legendary weapons have a real durability edge over repeated runs. For practice, Trials Season 5 weapon challenges are useful - they force you to learn current weapon behavior before a boss starts stomping around.
Questions Before You Queue
Can a solo player kill the Queen? Yes - but only if the joints are trapped first and summons don't pile up. Is Matriarch better with pure damage? Not when nobody owns the adds. First, set your roles. Second, count your heavy ammo and repairs. Third, if you're short on a key piece, you can buy ARC Raiders Items before the run, but don't mistake extra gear for a target plan.
