Two YouTube channels boasting millions of subscribers
have been removed from the platform
for creating AI-generated trailers.
Screen Culture and KH Studio,
which together amassed over a billion views,
were terminated for policy violations.
Earlier this year, ads were paused on the channels
after Deadline exposed the rise of fake trailers.
They briefly resumed monetization by labeling videos as parody or fan-made,
but soon dropped those disclaimers.
YouTube stated the channels violated spam and misleading metadata rules.

Screen Culture’s founder revealed his team exploited YouTube’s algorithm
by releasing fake trailers early and updating them frequently.
For instance, they created 23 versions of a Fantastic Four trailer,
some of which outranked the official one in search results.
Warner Bros. Discovery and Sony reportedly directed YouTube
to route ad revenue from these fake trailers to them,
