Cannabis packaging borrows the vocabulary of food, pharmacy and wine without any of the definitions that make those words mean something. Here is what the common ones actually commit a producer to.

"Full spectrum" and "broad spectrum"

Borrowed from the CBD market, where they distinguish products containing the full cannabinoid range from those with THC removed. Applied to a THC vape product, the term has no agreed meaning.

It is usually gesturing at "not pure distillate", which is a real distinction better made by naming the extraction method outright.

"Premium" and "top shelf"

Retail tier language with no production meaning. Top shelf originally described physical shelf position for higher-priced flower and has since become a marketing adjective anyone may use.

Neither commits a producer to anything checkable. A cali-blaze strain or franklin fields strain listing describing itself this way has told you its price positioning, not its inputs.

"Pure" and "clean"

Undefined in this context. Distillate is genuinely the purest form of cannabis oil by cannabinoid percentage, which means "pure" often describes the product with the least of the plant left in it — the opposite of what buyers assume it means.

"Clean" usually gestures at contaminant testing, which is mandatory anyway. A COA is the checkable version of that claim.

"Small batch"

No volume threshold exists. A producer may call any run small batch, and there is no body verifying it.

The checkable version is per-batch lab reports. If a mr x strain or high wired strain listing publishes results tied to individual runs, the claim has something behind it.

"Lab tested"

Every legal product is lab tested — it is a licensing requirement, not a differentiator. Printing it on packaging says only that the product is legal.

What would differentiate is publishing the report. That is a genuine and uncommon commitment, and worth more than any adjective.

"Terpene rich" and "flavour forward"

No thresholds. A product may claim either at any terpene content, because nothing defines the level required.

A published terpene panel converts it into a number. Absent that, a made vape, charge bar vape or nugrun vape description of aroma is at least a human claim about something specific — better than an adjective, weaker than a measurement.

"Award winning"

Cannabis competitions vary enormously in rigour, and several operate on paid entry with no blind judging. Some are genuinely competitive; others are effectively purchasable.

The useful question is which award, judged how, and in what year. Without those three, the phrase carries no information — the same as a bare lunchbox strain, tru infusion vape or native sun reviews mention with nothing checkable behind it.
