Smart DMZ Looting in Call of Duty: MW4 from U4GM

Good DMZ loot runs usually start before the first door opens. In Hajin, I like having a loose plan rather than sprinting at the nearest crate. A route should give you gear, cover, and a clean way out, not just a full backpack. If you're still learning the map, CoD MW4 Bot Lobbies can help you practise movement and room clearing without turning every test run into a high-pressure fight.

Pick One Main Goal

Don't enter Hajin hoping to find everything. Decide what matters most for that run. Medical items? Start near hospital blocks. Tactical equipment? Check police buildings and nearby offices. Crafting materials? Residential streets tend to be more useful. You'll quickly notice that random looting burns time, fills your bag with average items, and leaves you poorly prepared for the next fight.

A second target is worth choosing too. Maybe the police station is busy, or the hospital route is exposed. In that case, move to the backup area without hanging around to prove a point. Good players leave weak positions early. There's no prize for forcing a bad room.

Build the Route Around Cover

The safest route normally has three parts: a short opening sweep, a focused loot pass, and a direct trip to extraction. Keep the first section close to your spawn. Grab armour, ammunition, healing supplies, and one useful weapon, then move. Searching every drawer sounds sensible, but it often makes you late to the important part of the map.

Use connected buildings where possible. Walls, alleys, parked vehicles, and interior stairways let you cross Hajin with fewer long sightlines. Large open roads are quick on paper, yet they can expose your whole squad at once. I'd rather take a slightly slower path with two exits than cut across a street with nowhere to duck.

Early Run Priorities

These small decisions keep the opening tidy and stop the route from drifting.

1. Secure armour and ammunition before chasing rare loot.

2. Check corners, stairwells, storage rooms, and side entrances.

3. Leave the area when your squad has enough to continue.

Once the basic kit is ready, start moving toward the main target. Keep your ears open for doors, footsteps, suppressed shots, and vehicles. Sound often tells you more than a quick glance across a street. If another squad is already working the same block, take the longer rotation and keep your supplies.

Keep Your Backpack Flexible

A packed bag can be a problem. Leave a few spaces open during the first half of the run, especially if you're searching for mission items or crafting materials. When something new appears, compare it with what you carry. Does it help the current objective? Will it keep the squad moving? If not, leave it. Plenty of players carry three mediocre items while walking past something genuinely useful.

Try to share supplies instead of letting one player hold everything. One teammate can carry extra plates, another can handle medical items, and a third can keep space for mission goods. It's simple, but it makes the whole squad less fragile after one rough encounter.

Read Weather and Area Risk

Rain and fog change the value of every route. Visibility drops, distant movement becomes harder to read, and open crossings feel much worse. During poor weather, favour buildings and solid cover. Keep the squad close enough to react, but not so close that one blast catches everyone.

The Fallout area needs its own plan. Bring the protection required for entry, mark the exit first, and avoid treating every container as essential. If your squad already has strong equipment and mission progress, walking away is often the smarter play. A safe extraction keeps the next operation possible.

Route Choices at a Glance

This quick comparison helps match your route to what you actually need, rather than what happens to be nearby.

Route focus Best starting area Main benefit Main concern
Medical supplies Hospital blocks Healing items and support gear Limited cover outside
Tactical equipment Police buildings Useful combat supplies Likely player traffic
Crafting materials Residential streets Steady material pickups Longer search time

Have a Backup Exit

Extraction planning should begin before the backpack is full. Check the nearest point, then note a second option that can be reached through cover. If the first location becomes noisy, don't stand around waiting for things to calm down. Rotate early. A clean exit is worth more than one extra room.

1. Mark the closest extraction point before leaving your main loot area.

2. Keep one alternate route through buildings or covered lanes.

3. Call the move early so every teammate can follow.

Repeat the same route until the turns feel automatic. Then create a variation for heavy enemy activity, poor visibility, or a blocked street. Players looking to practise those movement habits can also use cheap CoD MW4 Bot Lobbies before taking the polished route into a serious DMZ run.
